This is truly a back to school like no other, not just for me, but for all parents and guardians across the world. Along with the usual mad rush for uniforms, tracksuits, lunch boxes and shoes, we now have the added stress of Covid-19 to contend with. In this house, it’s a return to secondary school so we have to ensure that each day there are enough masks to change up to three times each day during school hours. We also have to ensure that the schoolbag has a pack of sanitising wipes to wipe down each desk and chair before use – and in secondary school, this means a new desk every 45 minutes. I take comfort in knowing that we are all in the same boat and that we are all working to prevent another serious outbreak.
So while I’m working away with Treehouse Republic to produce another
storybook for your little ones, I’m always thinking about your little treasures and how strange this whole thing is for them. I have been a Mum for 29 years and never ever did I think we would be dealing with a pandemic that would impact every single one of us.
I hope you all remain safe and before we know it, hopefully we’ll be back to normality again. I, for one, cannot wait to hug my friends and family.
In the meantime, be safe and stay well.
